Give Thanks for Music

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Nancy and I wish everyone a safe and peaceful Thanksgiving this unusual year. Our own Thanksgiving will be small; just the two of us and my 93-year-old mother. We look forward to “zooming” on the day with family around the country.

We appreciate the sentiment of this image, “Give thanks for music.” May a melody or two— or three or four or more— be part of our holiday time to comfort, sustain, and inspire.

With all best wishes throughout the season,

Randy and Nancy Faber

  • Bless the both of you for all that you have brought the world. Your “Scale and Chord Book” book series is pure genius and has forever enriched the lives of those who see how powerful those books are!
    Gobble, gobble!

  • Thank you for your kind message. Wishing you the best and a most relaxing holiday with your loved ones. I am grateful for getting to share your music with my students.

    • Happy Thanksgiving to you! Your love of music and teaching has always been such an inspiration!

  • Thank you for all you do, Nancy and Randy, for piano teachers and students.
Have a great Thanksgiving giving our great God praise for His presence in our lives. We have lost much but still have much to be thankful for.
Music is a gift that cannot be taken away.

  • I’ve been attempting to learn to play the piano for over 30 years. Now, finally at age 43 I am playing Christmas carols, with my wife and kids singing along.
I have no words for the joy that you have brought to me and my family with your Adult books and Christmas for Adults.
My sons are learning with Piano Adventures as well, it is a joy to hear them play Christmas duets…being their school’s principal and offering affordable piano lessons using Piano Adventures has been an amazing gift

  • I give thanks to you and your wonderful piano method! Because everything is so clearly explained and the books are coordinated with each other I’ve been successfully teaching my piano students over Zoom since the end of March. May you have a safe Holiday season as well. Blessings!

  • Thanks so much for your warm & uplifting Thanksgiving message, AND for all you do for teachers, education & music in general.
When the pandemic first hit this past spring, we (Ellis Piano in B’ham., AL) were able to continue to sell our books via curbside service. 99% of our teachers who jumped into virtual teaching were Faber teachers! All I did for weeks was run (by my own feet!) Faber method books out to the front of our store, & was thrilled to get to do so! Can’t keep those Faber teachers down!
I wish you both, and your precious mother, a most blessed Thanksgiving!
    Sincerely,
    Loretta Pritchard

  • My teaching career is owed to your amazing educational series!! I’ve raised the most amazing students as musicians and professionals. It all starts with a terrific and solid foundation, of which we could never ask for more out of your piano series! After 24 years of teaching with your series, I’m just as excited as ever to show the songs over and over again to new students!
    Hugs from Canada!!

  • Dear Nancy and Randy, I am thankful for YOU! In these difficult times your incredible talents through the Faber Piano Method has made such a difference in my student’s lives during Covid. We learned together how to make Face Time work, shared our love of music and BOTH grew.
    My Best from Sarasota!!

  • Happy Thanksgiving from Ontario Canada! Ours was last month of course, and it was just my husband and I. Didn’t get together with the parents/siblings etc. which was sad.
God bless you on this special day of remembrance and Thanksgiving! Thank you Fabers and associates for ALL you do for us teachers and our students!

  • This year I’m giving thanks for music more than ever before. We have been sustained and strengthened throughout this trying year by an outpouring of musical offerings all over the globe. My lessons mean more, my playing means more, my singing (safe at home) means so much more. Thank you Randy and Nancy and the Piano Adventures team!

  • How interesting! I just got home from purchasing your “older beginner” piano lesson book one, from Clark at Pritchard’s Music Store in Sarasota, FL and found your Thanksgiving greeting! We certainly must have the same “vibrations”!
THANKSgiving to you, I am excited about starting this new student with your series.

  • Thank you all very much for the Music i love it . It’s Great ,rogmsic ???? ????????

  • I’m thankful for so many things, including:
    – my students and families, for adapting to online lessons and being bright spots in my week
    – my partner, for supporting me in my journey and for helping me create a dedicated music room in our house
    – content creators, for creating and sharing their content online – it has saved me a lot of time, and has made teaching even more fun for myself (and the kids!)
    – the Teacher Atlas, for saving me lots of time, money, and shelf space
    – TikTok (yup, that app), for connecting me to a larger community of music teachers, who share their experiences, humor, and more. I have learned so much in the last month of being on that app, than I did in 7 years of mandatory district PD
    – the surge of Zoom meetings and the normalization of webinars – I have been able to attend so many more meetings, webinars, and trainings during the pandemic than I have in many years. I not only have the time to attend, but I am also able to attend webinars hosted by/featuring some incredible educators, composers, and musicians that I otherwise would not have access to.
