KylieG, I liked how you put that and would like to add that the skill is in observing the student.Once you have the antennas up and can see what is going on with the person who came to a lesson with you, you can handle it as it suits you.

Kylie, you have a very good point that we all have different strengths and should use those! smile So true.

I enjoy discussing and hearing different viewpoints. Just because we handle things differently doesn't mean we shouldn't share what we do. It's valuable to discuss. When I type out how I handle situations, it helps me to analyze how I am with my students. I enjoy seeing what I do, what I don't do, and what I could do in the future. smile In a positive way! smile smile

So yeah, I agree that evaluating what we do is very valuable for us as teachers. As long as we're not being personal against someone else, then I think it's great!
