It's the middle of winter. Everything in Ohio seems a little blah this time of year. You would think students would use all this inside time to practice but it doesn't seem to work that way. smile

I would like to spice things up a bit and have a pizza party fun night for all my students. I've never done anything like this before so I thought I would run it by the pros and get some ideas from ya'll.

I'm thinking I would order in pizza and as soon as the pizza is devoured I'd have each of the students play a song- a fun song with a catchy tune. Maybe a rag or some jazz or some traditional fun stuff. But different from our recital style. After that I was thinking we could play a couple of games with prizes and I'd obviously have a wide range of ages and levels so I'd have to think of a way to make it fair for everyone.

What do you think? What ideas come to your mind? I love the feedback from this great group of people.

Well, the fun part of being your own boss is that you can do anything you want! This summer, I had a bowling/pizza party for my students. No piano or music lesson was involved. A good time was had by all.

I was thinking of having them watch a DVD.
Any suggestions? Personally, I don't like stuff w/food. LOL

I guess I never thought of having a party without music being involved. It's a thought I'm processing. smile

Just trying to think of all the different ages and personalities. Some are friends and some are strangers. My husband says I worry too much about details??? smile

A lot of people in our area are into corn hole. We could have a pizza party followed by a corn hole tournament. I could have a different game for the younger kids. Now I'm rambling......

I've held sledding parties (I provide the hot chocolate and a treat on the hill), swimming parties (I pay there way into a local swimming hole on a specific day), A paint your own pottery thing( I choose an amount and they choose an item under that amount), we made journals one year at an art gallery. Pretty much if they say they'll host a birthday party they will host a party for ANYTHING.
