Please share your links to interesting music sites. Places where we can do fun stuff like SHOP FOR MUSIC, learn about music, examine sample studio policies, Chat about Teaching, and anything else you can think of that might be interesting. I'd like to start by sharing this site if you ever need to do research on any composer:

Other site recommendations?

Well, for a good sample studio policy (in my own uppity opinion) can be found by visiting my website at http://www.members.tripod.com/renelleramirez/

Tootin' my own horn

Thanks to Lisa, Eric and other Piano Club members for giving me great ideas to include in my studio policy.

Virtual Keyboard: www.xmission.com/~mgm/misc/keyboard.html This site features a diagram of the piano keyboard. You can click on a key and hear the note. The guy that developed the site claims it is a stupid site, but after 15 to 20 minutes, my youngest son learned to locate all the notes on the keyboard.

Piano on the Net: www.artdsm.com/music.html
Piano lessons on-line. Been a while since I looked at this site. Looked interesting, but I would rather have a real teacher.

America's Shrine to Music Mueseum: www.usd.edu/smm Online Antique Phonograph Gallery: www.inkyfingers.com?Record.html
Both are kind of interesting-bookmark them for a rainy day.

Children's Music List: www.cowboy.net/~mharper/Chmusiclist.html
Children's Music Web: www.childrensmusic.org
Two more rainy day sites for anyone with kids. They both offer a large list of links to music related sites for kids, on-line fun and games and audio clips.

Lullabies and Other Songs for Children: www.kididdles.com Cute- useful if you need to remeber lyrics to kid songs such as my all time favorite Puff the Magic Dragon

Pipsqueaks: www.childrensmusic.org/Pipsqueaks.html An on-line music magazine for kids.

Classical Composer Biographies: www.cl.cam.ac.uk/users/mn200/music/composers.html Brief biographys

J.S. Bach Home Page: www.jsbach.org A biography and portrait of Bach

Wow! I can't wait to check out some of these sites. Here's one for those of us who love CHOPIN

My website also features a links page, so you can go there to find some other useful music sites.

Thanks for the URLs, Samuel. I'm adding some of them to my website's link page so my piano students can visit them. Eric, it was a terrific idea to start this thread. Thanks.

Eric, in the "Memorization" thread, you mentioned a website that I think is very good, so I'm gonna list it here:

Of course, if we're gonna include links to piano sites, I guess we gotta mention The Piano Education Page. Many of the articles there are helpful, but I find much of it way off-the-mark! They DO have a fun archive of audio files!

I didn't want to mention that site because of the unfair review they gave to the PA method, plus their rather uppity, obnoxious opinions regarding teachers who choose to use one set method rather than no method at all. But I suppose you're right that there are some good things on that site.

How about the Brent Hugh (MWSC) piano pedagogy site? I post as "Music Educator" over there. I know Arlene & Marcia post over there, too (using their own names):
